Major honours
Winners of the first modern World Series in 1903, then the protagonists of the sport's most famous drought. Five titles through 1918 were followed by selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1920 and eighty-six years without another championship — collapsing in Game 7 in 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1986. In 2004 they erased a 3–0 ALCS deficit against the Yankees and swept St. Louis to end it, then added titles in 2007, 2013 and 2018 for four championships in the twenty-first century alone. Career totals: nine World Series and fourteen AL pennants. Fenway Park, opened in 1912, is MLB's oldest ballpark; the 11.3-metre Green Monster in left field defines it. Capacity sits around 37,700 — among the league's smallest — yet Fenway still filled 2.69 million seats in 2024.
