Major honours
An Original Six club since 1926, Chicago won titles in 1934, 1938, and 1961. Bobby Hull defined the 1960s: 54 goals in 1965–66 broke the 50-goal barrier, and his curved-blade slap shot helped push goaltenders toward masks. Stan Mikita, in the same room, popularized the curved stick after accidentally breaking one. Forty-nine years of silence ended in 2010; Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane added titles in 2013 and 2015 for three championships in six seasons. Game 6 of the 2013 Final saw two goals in seventeen seconds with 1:16 left to steal the Cup in Boston. The 24-game point streak to open 2012–13 (21 wins, three overtime losses) is an NHL record.

Detroit was the Original Six Midwest rival until 2013 conference realignment reduced regular meetings. St. Louis and Colorado have largely filled that void in the West.
