Major honours
Founded in Philadelphia in 1946, the Warriors won the BAA's inaugural championship before relocating to San Francisco in 1962, where they remain today. The 75-year gap between its first and most recent titles — 1947 and 2022 — is the longest on this list. A second dynasty in the 2010s ended the long drought in between. The backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, a small-ball lineup built around Draymond Green, and coach Steve Kerr's ball-movement system combined for four titles, in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. The 73-9 record of 2015-16 is the best in NBA regular-season history, and in that same season Curry became the league's first unanimous MVP. The team's influence reaches beyond its title count — it effectively set the modern standard for offense built around three-pointers and spacing, and shot selection across the whole league was rebuilt in its wake.

Rivalry
From 2015 to 2018, Golden State met LeBron James's Cleveland Cavaliers in four straight Finals — the only case in league history of the same two teams meeting in the Finals four years running, with the Warriors ahead 3-1.
