Silver and black, and the motto 'Just win, baby' — the Raiders were Al Davis from 1963 until his death in 2011, coaching, general managing, and owning in one persona. After the 1967 AFL title they won Super Bowls XI, XV, and XVIII; Super Bowl XV in 1980 was the first wildcard team to take the title. In Super Bowl XVIII, Marcus Allen ran for 191 yards and a reversed 74-yard touchdown in a 38–9 rout of Washington that still gets replayed. The franchise moved Oakland to Los Angeles (1982), back to Oakland (1995), then Las Vegas (2020), fighting the league in court at every step. The $1.9 billion Allegiant Stadium sits west of the Strip as a fully indoor venue.

Rivalry

Kansas City is the AFL's premier grudge match from year one — brawls were routine in the 1970s. The Denver West rivalry was the league's top draw when both peaked in the 1970s and 1980s.
